Start anything can seem daunting, until you actually just start of course! Like all things in life fitness and wellness are no different when it comes to the amount of effort and commitment one needs to get the results they desire. What I encourage my new and old clients is to just start! Whether you’re coming back from pregnancy, fell off the wagon or have never worked out in your life, just do it, start today, now, with what you have! There is a plethora of information on how to get from point A to where you want to be with your fitness and wellness goals online to begin with or if you’re lucky enough to have access to a personal trainer to see you along your journey, that’s what you should do, either way there’s no excuse not to start!
A simple way to remember how to start your physical fitness and wellness journey is to remember the “4 P’s”
1. Pick a battle.
Just one to begin with. For example getting 30min of exercise daily then adding the next goal and so on. This way you can prevent potentially becoming overwhelmed and quitting quickly.
2. Practice patience
You did not get where you are overnight and will therefore not likely to reach your goals the next day. Be patient with your body and the process it’s undergoing.
Keep going, trust the process and be consistent in doing what you have to do to achieve your goals
4. Positive realistic goals
Set goals that are compelling that will keep pulling you towards them when things get tough (which they will at times) for example prioritizing your health and feeling good
